There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Siarka (2-2) won against on the road higher ranked R8 Krakow (2-2) 88-72 on Saturday. Siarka dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to R8 Krakow's 26 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Siarka looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Quite impressive performance for Jakub Zalewski (184-86) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 assists. The former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) contributed with 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Siarka players scored in double figures. Naturalized American swingman Michael Hicks (193-83, college: Central Mo.) replied with 28 points and swingman Jakub Zalucki (194-89, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points in the effort for R8 Krakow. R8 Krakow's coach Rafal Knap let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Siarka moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated R8 Krakow. Siarka will face higher ranked Sokol Lancut (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
