Regular Season Round 4: Kauhajoki - Lapua 109-100

We should mention about the upset which took place in Kauhajoki, where 6th ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (1-2) lost to ninth ranked Kauhajoki (2-3) in a road game 100-109 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 34-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Kauhajoki dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Lapuan Korikobrat's 44 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Lapuan Korikobrat 36-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. Kauhajoki looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marcus Allen (191-94, college: Stanford) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 6 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Fuquan Edwin (198-91, college: Seton Hall, agency: Pensack Sports) who added 26 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American Maurice Creek (196-90, college: G.Washington) responded with 38 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and American-Italian guard Lucas Woodhouse (190-94, college: Stony Brook, agency: Interperformances) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Kauhajoki moved-up to seventh place. Lapuan Korikobrat at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. Kauhajoki will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lapuan Korikobrat will play against UU-Korihait (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
