There was no surprise when bottom-ranked BG Karlsruhe (0-4) was outplayed at home by third ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (3-1) 83-52 on Saturday. BV Villingen-Schwenningen dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to BG Karlsruhe's 34. They outrebounded BG Karlsruhe 35-22 including 22 on the defensive glass. American forward Rasheed Moore (196, college: E.Stroudsburg) stepped up and scored 30 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners and Italian-Slovenian center Davor Barovic (211-90) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Josh Mayberry (190-95, college: Dominican, IL) responded with 16 points and 5 assists and British Jordan Williams (202-95) scored 11 points. BG Karlsruhe's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. BV Villingen-Schwenningen moved-up to second place in South-West, which they share with Tuebingen II. Loser BG Karlsruhe still closes the standings with four games lost. BV Villingen-Schwenningen will face Stuttgart (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BG Karlsruhe will play against Koblenz (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
