Regular Season Round 5: San Fernando - Jaguarzo Adepla 65-72

An interesting game where Jaguarzo Adepla (#6) beat host San Fernando (#7) 72-65 on Sunday evening. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-16. But San Fernando won third quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian center Dusan Kostic (205-94) stepped up and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American forward David Atkinson (203-91, college: Salem Intern.) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Jaguarzo Adepla players scored in double figures. Jose Ruiz (200-97) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and center Gonzalo Bueno (205-93) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jaguarzo Adepla (1-1) left bottom position moving up to third place in Group D-B, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser San Fernando still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Sevilla 2. Jaguarzo Adepla will meet at home league's second-placed Utrera in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. San Fernando will play against Benahavis (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
