Regular Season Round 3: Oulun NMKY - Porvoon Tarmo 99-92

There was a surprise result when Oulun NMKY (1-3) defeated at home Porvoon Tarmo (1-2) 99-92 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-92. Oulun NMKY looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Porvoon Tarmo was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Micah Dunhour (198-93, college: CS East Bay) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jack Pasquini (203-93, college: CS East Bay) helped adding 25 points and 5 rebounds. Five Oulun NMKY players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Michael Besselink (198-99) with 40 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Joona Tuomala (197-97) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Porvoon Tarmo's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Oulun NMKY will face ToPo (#3) in Helsinki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
