Regular Season Round 2: Terceira - Barreirense 79-60

Very expected game when Barreirense (0-4) was smashed by Terceira (2-2) in Angra Heroismo 79-60 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-60. Terceira outrebounded Barreirense 41-30 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Marcus Van (201-87, college: Cent.Michigan) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Manny Ogunfolu (201-89, college: S.Indiana) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Montenegrin forward Miki Novovic (208-92) answered with 13 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Sean Harris (201, college: Utah St.) added 16 points in the effort for Barreirense. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Terceira will face Electrico FC (#10) in Ponte de Sor in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Barreirense will play at home against Ovarense and hopes to get finally their first victory.
