Regular Season Round 6: U19 Chance - SBS Ostrava 57-82

SBS Ostrava has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Strakonice, where they outplayed U19 Chance (0-6) 82-57. SBS Ostrava dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to U19 Chance's 16. SBS Ostrava forced 23 U19 Chance turnovers. It was a good game for American swingman D'Asia Chambers (182, college: Slippery Rock) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import guard Antoinette Thompson (170-90, college: TCU) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Thompson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four SBS Ostrava players scored in double figures. Tereza Sipova (179-97) replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Alena Jenistova (182-86) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for U19 Chance. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SBS Ostrava maintains eleventh position with 1-5 record. It was U19 Chance's sixth loss in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. SBS Ostrava's next round opponent will be higher ranked KP Brno (#5) at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. U19 Chance will play against LOKO Trutnov (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
