Date: October 15, 2017
The game in Malmo supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Wetterbygden (3-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Malbas (2-3). Wetterbygden smashed Malbas 86-64 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Malbas. The game was mostly controlled by Wetterbygden. Malbas managed to win fourth quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wetterbygden looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by Spanish forward Albert Masllorens (199-90) who scored that evening 29 points and 8 rebounds and Spanish point guard Carlos Calvo (178-94) supported him with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by forward Luka Rozic (199-98) did not help to save the game for Malbas. Antiguan-American point guard Jermelle Fraser (186-87, college: SUNY Maritime) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wetterbygden maintains fourth position with 3-1 record. Loser Malbas dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Wetterbygden will meet LF Future (#7) in the next round. Malbas will play against the league's second-placed Koping Stars and hope to secure a win.
