Regular Season Round 2: Unics - Levallois 76-68

There was no surprise when French Paris-Levallois (0-2) were defeated on the road by Russian Unics Kazan (2-0) 76-68 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 12 points at the halftime before their 42-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Unics Kazan dominated on the defensive end, holding Paris-Levallois to just 6 points in third quarter. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Unics Kazan looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish guard Joaquin Colom (188-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Gabonese forward Stephane Lasme (203-82, college: Massachusetts) chipped in 17 points. Four Unics Kazan players scored in double figures. Slovenian guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) produced 21 points and American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Unics Kazan will face Darussafaka in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Paris-Levallois will play at home against Fiat TO (#3) and hope to win that game.
