Regular Season Round 4: Czarni - GTK Gliwice 92-82

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked GTK (0-4) lost to tenth ranked Czarni (3-2) in Slupsk 82-92 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 49-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Czarni looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. GTK was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Dominic Artis (192-93, college: UTEP) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. The other American import swingman Justin Watts (196-90, college: N.Carolina, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American guard Jonathan Williams (190-95, college: Toledo) replied with 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Czech forward Lukas Palyza (202-89) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for GTK. Five Czarni and four GTK players scored in double figures. Czarni moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Polski Cukier and PGE Turow. Newly promoted GTK still closes the standings with four games lost. Czarni will face league's leader Anwil in Wloclawek in the next round and it may be the game of the week. GTK will play on the road against Legia (#17) in Warszawa and hopes to get finally their first victory.
