Regular Season Round 2: Caen - Nancy 88-83

There was a surprise result when Caen (1-1) won against at home Sluc Nancy (1-1) 88-83 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-19. But Sluc Nancy won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Caen had a 27-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. American power forward Jarvis Williams (198-93, college: Murray St., agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Thomas Cornely (190-91) contributed with 17 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Caen players scored in double figures. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (201-90, college: Murray St.) replied with 23 points and 7 rebounds and center Garry Florimont (203-87) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sluc Nancy. Sluc Nancy's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Caen will face Quimper UJAP (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
