Regular Season Round 5: La Charite - Challans 96-73

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Vendee Challans (3-2) was crushed on the road by eighth ranked La Charite (3-2) 96-73 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for La Charite especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. American point guard Austen Rowland (186-81, college: Lehigh, agency: Inception Sports) stepped up and scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and Lens Aboudou (187-90) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) responded with 20 points and point guard Paul Turpin (190-93) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for La Charite. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Vendee Challans. La Charite will face higher ranked Saint-Quentin (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vendee Challans will play against SO Maritime Boulogne and hope to win that game.
