Regular Season Round 5: Yamanashi QB - Aishin AW 72-78

Aishin Wings has registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Yamanashi, where they defeated Yamanashi QB (0-5) 78-72. It looked good early as Yamanashi QB took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Aishin Wings had a 20-10 second period charge getting the lead and Yamanashi QB was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-78. Aishin Wings dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Yamanashi QB's 38. They outrebounded Yamanashi QB 53-35 including a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kiho Miyashita (178-98) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Zuozhi Aoyuan (167-91) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Uchibori Murasaki (165-94) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Shihorei Tsuda (168-92) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Yamanashi QB. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Yamanashi QB's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Aishin Wings (1-4) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Toyota B SR and Haneda Vickies. It was Yamanashi QB's fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Aishin Wings will have a break next round. Yamanashi QB will play again at home against Aishin Wings (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
