Regular Season Round 5: MMCITE Brno - Svitavy 76-84

There was a minor upset when higher ranked MMCITE Brno (2-3) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Basketbal Svitavy (2-3) 84-76 on Saturday. MMCITE Brno was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Pavel Slezak (186-84) who scored 27 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Swingman Lubos Stria (197-81) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Basketbal Svitavy's coach Lubomir Ruzicka used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Croatian center Mladen Primorac (210-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Brian Sullivan (183-93, college: Davidson) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Four MMCITE Brno players scored in double figures. Basketbal Svitavy moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated MMCITE Brno. Basketbal Svitavy will face BK Kolin (#9) at home in the next round.
