Regular Season Round 3: Spartak Pleven - Levski Lukoil 87-93

Not a big story in a game when Spartak Pleven (0-3) was defeated at home by Levski 2014 (2-1) 93-87 on Saturday. Spartak Pleven trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 30-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 87-93 at the end of the game. Levski 2014 made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Spartak Pleven turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for international forward Aleks Simeonov (200-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The former international forward Veselin Veselinov (202-83, college: W.Virginia St.) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. Five Levski 2014 players scored in double figures. Levski 2014's coach Konstantin Papazov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Ivko Ivkov (196-95) with 29 points and point guard Nikolay Marinov (174-94) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Levski 2014 will face Cherno More (#8) in Varna in the next round. Spartak Pleven will play on the road against Rilski in Samokov and hopes to get finally their first victory.
