Regular Season Round 7: Kagawa FA - Hiroshima D. 78-67

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Kagawa FA (2-5) defeated 3rd placed Dragonflies (4-3) in Takamatsu 78-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kagawa FA. Dragonflies was better in third quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quite impressive performance for American guard Montay Brandon (203-93, college: Florida St.) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Takada Shuichi (194-83) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and guard Hunter Cort (189-99) added 9 points and 6 assists in the effort for Dragonflies. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagawa FA moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Iwate Big Bulls. Loser Dragonflies dropped to the second position with three games lost. Kagawa FA will face again higher ranked Dragonflies (#3) in Hiroshima in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
