Very expected game when 11th ranked Eurobasket Roma (1-3) was edged at home by third ranked Givova Scafati (3-1) 67-64 on Sunday. Eurobasket Roma was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Anthony Miles (185-89, college: Lamar) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Brandon Sherrod (198-92, college: Yale) who added 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Givova Scafati's coach Giovanni Perdichizzi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American point guard Michael Deloach (184-86, college: Norfolk St.) responded with 21 points and point guard Eugenio Fanti (184-91) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Givova Scafati maintains third position in A2 with 3-1 record behind leader Novipiu Casale. Loser Eurobasket Roma dropped to the thirteenth place with three games lost. Givova Scafati will face Mens Sana 1871 (#11) in Siena in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eurobasket Roma will play on the road against Eurotrend Biella and hope to win that game.
