Regular Season Round 4: Haukar - Keflavik 87-90

Date: October 26, 2017
Very significant was Keflavik's (#3) just 3-point road victory against 8th ranked Haukar. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The winners were led by naturalized American guard Reggie Dupree (180-87, college: Faulkner) who scored that evening 29 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Cameron Forte (201-93, college: Portland St.) supported him with 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Even 28 points and 7 rebounds by international guard Kari Jonsson (190-97, college: Drexel) did not help to save the game for Haukar. American forward Paul Jones (198-89, college: W.Washington) added 12 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Four Haukar players scored in double figures. Haukar's coach Ivar Asgrimsson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Keflavik (3-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Haukar at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Keflavik will play against Thor Thorl (#10) in Thorlakshofn in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Haukar will play on the road against Tindastoll (#3) in Sauoarkrokur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
