TTU used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Valmiera 90-69 on Thursday night. TTU looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Toomas Raadik (202-90, agency: Promotex) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and swingman Oliver Metsalu (196-93) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four TTU players scored in double figures. TTU's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side center Viktors Iljins (212-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Janis Kaufmanis (186-89, agency: HMS) scored 17 points. TTU will face Barsy Atyrau (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
