Regular Season Round 6: Slavoj Litom. - Basket Kosice 98-53

Second defeat of league's leader Basket Kosice (5-2) against second ranked Slavoj BK Litomerice (6-1) 98-53 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in West. Slavoj BK Litomerice dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Basket Kosice's 36. They outrebounded Basket Kosice 40-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. Slavoj BK Litomerice looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Basket Kosice's players. It was a good game for point guard Filip Kroutil (190-96) who led his team to a victory with 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Center Martin Klimes (203-83, college: Vermont) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Slavoj BK Litomerice players scored in double figures. Slavoj BK Litomerice's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Matej Bernath (203-94) replied with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Martin Hruby (192-87) added 5 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Basket Kosice. Slavoj BK Litomerice have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of West leader. Basket Kosice at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Slavoj Litom.. Basket Kosice will play next round against strong BK Loko Plzen trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Slavoj BK Litomerice will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Vysocina in Jihlava.
