Regular Season Round 5: Tokyo HT - Otsuka A. 83-64

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two teams from Tokyo: Tokyo HT (#1) and Otsuka A. (#4). Tokyo HT (8-2) crushed visiting Otsuka A. (4-6) by 19 points 83-64. They outrebounded Otsuka A. 52-30 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tokyo HT players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Swingman Mitsuhiro Kamezaki (189-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points. American power forward Edward Morris (204-84, college: Pittsburg St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Ryo Narumi (170-87) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Otsuka A.Four Otsuka A. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Tokyo HT. They maintain first place with 8-2 record. Otsuka A. at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Tokyo HT's next round opponent will be Kagoshima (#3) in Renova, which may be the game of the day. Otsuka A.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Cinq R..
