Regular Season Round 6: MBK Ruzomb. - Samorin 95-53

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Samorin (2-4) was crushed on the road by third ranked MBK Ruzomberok (4-2) 95-53 on Saturday. MBK Ruzomberok dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Samorin's 32. MBK Ruzomberok forced 20 Samorin turnovers. It was a great shooting night for MBK Ruzomberok especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Samorin's players. Canadian swingman Cassandra Brown (188-92, college: Portland) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and Hungarian power forward Bettina Bozoki (191-89) chipped in 22 points and 4 steals (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. MBK Ruzomberok's coach Juraj Suja felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Serbian point guard Mirjana Beronja (170-86, agency: ProDep Management) with 17 points and Simona Marcova (184-94) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. MBK Ruzomberok maintains third position with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader Good Angels. Samorin lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Banska Bystrica. MBK Ruzomberok will meet bottom-ranked Slovan (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Samorin will play against BAM Poprad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
