Regular Season Round 5: Bandirma Kir. - Petkim 89-82

Bandirma Kir. can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Socar Petkim (1-4) 89-82 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Socar Petkim won fourth quarter 25-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Bandirma Kir. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Guard Sehmus Hazer (190-99) stepped up and scored 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Ahmet Cantitiz (193-92) responded with 20 points and 6 assists and Bulgarian power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Socar Petkim's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bandirma Kir. left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Socar Petkim. It was Socar Petkim's fourth loss in a row. Bandirma Kir. will meet higher ranked Samsun (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Socar Petkim will play against Antalyaspor and hope to win that game.
