Regular Season Round 7: Brissac Anjou - Challans 71-85

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Vendee Challans (5-2) beat 12th ranked Brissac-Aubance (2-5) in Brissac-Quince 85-71 on Tuesday. Vendee Challans made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Brissac-Aubance turnovers and outrebounded them 35-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for swingman Dominique Gentil (197-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Jordan Barham (193-94, college: Davidson) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese center Moise Diame (206-86) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and point guard Aurelien Rigaux (176-88) added 11 points and 7 assists in the effort for Brissac-Aubance. Four Brissac-Aubance players scored in double figures. Vendee Challans moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Brissac-Aubance lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. Vendee Challans will face league's second-placed Gries/Oberhoffen in Bischwiller in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brissac-Aubance will play on the road against Saint-Quentin (#5) and hope to win that game.
