Regular Season Round 7: Limburg - Langen 81-87

Everything went according to plan when third ranked TV Langen (5-1) defeated on the road 14th ranked Limburg (1-6) 87-81 on Tuesday. Limburg was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American forward Nick Smith (203-95, college: Belmont) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Ruben Spoden (202-89) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. TV Langen's coach Markus Kuhn allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Lithuanian point guard Julius Zurna (188-86) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists and American guard Brandon Shingles (190-87, college: Morehead St.) added 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Limburg. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for TV Langen. They moved-up to second place in South-West, which they share with Speyer. Limburg lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with six games lost. TV Langen will face Lich II (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Limburg will play against Kaiserslautern and hope to win that game.
