There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Desio (1-5) defeated at home 13th ranked Volpino (1-5) 58-45 on Wednesday. Desio forced 22 Volpino turnovers. It was a good game for point guard Carlo Fumagalli (188-96) who led his team to a victory with 16 points. Center Marco Corti (203-98) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Alessio Sabbadini (203-93) replied with 7 points and 10 rebounds and forward Kevin Cusenza (202-93) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Volpino. Desio left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place in B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Volpino. Desio will face higher ranked Vicenza (#8) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
