Regular Season Round 7: Valladolid - Breogan 84-85

The most exciting game of round 7 in the LEB Gold took place in Valladolid. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 9th ranked Blancos de Rueda (4-3) to leader Leche Rio Breogan (7-0) 85-84 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-84. It was a great evening for Brazilian forward Leonardo Demetrio (208-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. Swedish Johan Lofberg (199-95) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Leche Rio Breogan players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Henri Wade-Chatman (188-92, college: Edinboro) responded with 17 points and Dutch center Jito Kok (206-94, college: San Diego, agency: Court Side) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Leche Rio Breogan have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Newly promoted Blancos de Rueda dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Leche Rio Breogan are looking forward to face Palencia Baloncesto (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Blancos de Rueda will play against Araberri (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
