Regular Season Round 7: Basket Kosice - Loko Plzen 92-88

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kosice. Second ranked host Basket Kosice (6-2) defeated 3rd placed BK Loko Plzen (4-3) 92-88. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BK Loko Plzen. They outrebounded BK Loko Plzen 33-22 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Basket Kosice especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for Slovakian forward Miroslav Vansa (197-87) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Jan Lycka (186-93) accounted for 21 points for the winning side. Naturalized Uruguayan forward Martin Volf (198-80) came up with 27 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and point guard Vaclav Honomichl (186-92) added 15 points (made all of his seven free throws) respectively for BK Loko Plzen in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Basket Kosice used an opportunity after Slavoj Litom. lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in West. BK Loko Plzen at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Vysocina. Basket Kosice will play against Sokol Prazky (#7) in Praha in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BK Loko Plzen will play on the road against the league's leader Slavoj BK Litomerice and hopes to get back on the winning track.
