Regular Season Round 12: Ryukyu GK - Hokkaido L. 51-77

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Ryukyu GK (8-5) in Okinawa on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Hokkaido L. (8-5) 77-51. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Hokkaido L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Greg Whittington (203-93, college: Rutgers) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) who added 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Hassan Martin (201-95, college: Rhode Island) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hokkaido L. used an opportunity after Ryukyu GK lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Ryukyu GK. Hokkaido L. is looking forward to face Hitachi Sunrockers (#5) in Tokyo in the next round. Ryukyu GK will play on the road against Nishinomiya S. (#4) in Hyogo and is hoping to win this game.
