Regular Season Round 10: Suduva-Mantinga - Palanga 87-86

Twelfth-ranked Palanga (3-7) made lots of trouble for second ranked Suduva-Mantinga (8-2) in Marijampole on Saturday. Suduva-Mantinga managed to secure only one-point victory 87-86. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Palanga. Suduva-Mantinga dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Palanga's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Palanga's players. Rokas Stankevicius (200-95) fired 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Zygimantas Simonis (192-95) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Four Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Guard Haroldas Saprykinas (185-95, college: Cal-Irvine) produced 20 points and Tadas Pazera (190-98) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Suduva-Mantinga have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-2 record behind leader Vytis. Palanga at the other side keeps the twelfth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Perlas. Suduva-Mantinga are looking forward to face Telsiai (#3) in Telsiu in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Palanga will play at home against KTU (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
