Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Monthey (2-4) was defeated on the road by second ranked Geneve Lions (6-1) 79-72 on Saturday. Geneve Lions made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. American guard Marquis Addison (195-91, college: Missouri So., agency: XL Basketball Agency) fired 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import point guard Lester Medford (178-93, college: Baylor, agency: 3Eye) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Geneve Lions players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Geneve Lions. They maintain second place with 6-1 record having just one point less than leader Fribourg. Defending champion Monthey dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Geneve Lions will meet league's leader Fribourg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Monthey will play against Neuchatel (#5) and hope to secure a win.
