There was an upset when higher ranked Sestu (4-3) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Cassino (3-4) 61-54 on Saturday. Cassino outrebounded Sestu 36-25 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Maurizio Del-Testa (187-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Manuel Carrizo (196-80, agency: Players Group) helped adding 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side the former international Manuel Vanuzzo (203-75) responded with 8 points and 8 rebounds and Giuliano Samoggia (200-83) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Cassino moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Sestu keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Cassino will face Venafro (#13) at home in the next round. Sestu will play against Catanzaro (#12) and hope to win that game.
