Regular Season Round 8: Chalon - Bourg 93-99

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked JL Bourg (5-3) beat on the road bottom-ranked Chalon/Saor (1-7) 99-93 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chalon/Saor won third quarter 26-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JL Bourg shot 60.7 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import Chase Simon (201-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: 3Eye) who added 22 points and 4 assists during the contest. The former international center Ousmane Camara (205-89) responded with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international Mickael Gelabale (202-83, agency: BeoBasket) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five JL Bourg and four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. JL Bourg moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Defending champion Chalon/Saor stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. JL Bourg will face Paris-Levallois (#15) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Chalon/Saor will play against Cholet Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
