Regular Season Round 6: Kagoshima - Tokyo HT 70-78

There was an upset in Renova where top-ranked Kagoshima (0-2) was defeated by top-ranked Tokyo HT (2-0) 78-70 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Hiroya Oogane (180-89) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Tokyo HT's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and forward Ryuichiro Nakazono (190-78) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Kagoshima players scored in double figures. Tokyo HT keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Saitama Bron. Loser Kagoshima still closes the standings with two games lost. Tokyo HT's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo Big Blue.
