ELOHIM topped Amatitlan in the opener. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when ELOHIM made 7 blocks. The former international power forward Oscar Salguero (198-87) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Salvadorean guard Ricardo Amaya (191-84) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Luis Arias (-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and Walter Ramirez (-97) scored 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Amatitlan players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
