Liga Mayor top team - Santa Tecla BC (7-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Halcones (1-7) 96-72. Santa Tecla BC forced 23 Halcones turnovers. It was a good game for Cuban point guard Arlenis Romero (176-84) who led her team to a victory with 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Cuban forward Leidis Oquendo (180-82, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Santa Tecla BC players scored in double figures. American guard Tracey Parsons (170, college: Cent.Arkansas) replied with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists and her fellow American import center Wende Foster (196, college: Livingstone, agency: Gamble Sports Management) added 15 points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocks in the effort for Halcones. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santa Tecla BC have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record, which they share with San Salvador. Newly promoted Halcones stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Santa Tecla BC will face L.M.Mons. (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Halcones will play against Rapido and hope to win that game.
