Regular Season Round 9: Al-Manama - Al-Hala 89-84

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Al-Hala (5-3) was defeated on the road by leader Al-Manama (7-0) 89-84 on Tuesday. Al-Manama made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Al-Hala turnovers. The best player for the winners was international forward Hassan Nawrooz who scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Yunes Kawaid (-88) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Lebanese center Loren Woods (218-78, college: Arizona) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 22 rebounds and Jordanian Ahmed Jamal (-87) added 19 points respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Al-Manama. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Loser Al-Hala keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Al-Manama will face Al-Bahrain (#11) in Manama in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al-Hala will play at home against Isa Town (#10) and hope to win that game.
