Regular Season Round 5: Dolomiti En. TR - Ratiopharm 77-66

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Trento where 5th ranked German ratiopharm Ulm (2-3) was defeated by sixth ranked Italian Dolomiti En. TR (2-3) 77-66 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Dolomiti En. TR. ratiopharm Ulm was better in third quarter 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was point guard Diego Flaccadori (194-96) who scored 20 points and 6 assists. Cape Verdean-Portuguese Joao Gomes (201-85) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Dolomiti En. TR players scored in double figures. American forward Jerrelle Benimon (203-91, college: Towson) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward DaSean Butler (201-88, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) added 11 points respectively for the guests. ratiopharm Ulm's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Dolomiti En. TR moved-up to fourth place in Group D, which they share with Ratiopharm and ASVEL. Dolomiti En. TR will face ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#4) on the road in the next round. ratiopharm Ulm will play against the league's second-placed Tofas in Bursa and hope to win that game.
