Regular Season Round 6: Rabotnicki - Blokotehna 71-55

Round 6 in Prva Liga means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Skopje where host Rabotnicki (6-0) beat league's leader Blokotehna (5-1) 71-55 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Blokotehna. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Blokotehna 45-33 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Bulgarian Chavdar Kostov (195-88, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. American swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina, agency: HMS) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Rabotnicki players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Russian-Israeli power forward Anton Kazarnovski (206-85) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Marjan Mladenovic (180-87) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively. Rabotnicki have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Newly promoted Blokotehna dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Karpos Sokoli. They were replaced at the leadership position by Rabotnicki. Blokotehna will play next round against Ohrid AV trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Rabotnicki will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Gostivar on the road.
