Regular Season Round 9: Souffel - Chartres 70-85

Very predictable result when third ranked UB Chartres (7-2) beat on the road 10th ranked Souffelweyersheim (4-5) 85-70 on Saturday. They outrebounded Souffelweyersheim 39-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Jeremy Ricard-Dorigo (200-94) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Center Moustapha Diarra (204-87, college: USF) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Kenyan-American forward Joel Awich (201-93, college: Cal Poly - SLO) who recorded 22 points and Valentin Correia (192-93) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively. Four Souffelweyersheim players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for UB Chartres. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Gries/Oberhoffen and Saint-Quentin. Loser Souffelweyersheim dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. UB Chartres will face La Charite (#5) at home in the next round. Souffelweyersheim will play against Lorient (#6) and hope to win that game.
