There was no surprise in Kanagawa where 6th ranked Tochigi Brex (5-10) was defeated by third ranked Toshiba Thunders (10-5) 80-71 on Sunday. Tochigi Brex was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) produced 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toshiba Thunders keep a position of league leader, which they share with Chiba Jets and Ryukyu GK. Defending champion Tochigi Brex keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Toyama Grouses (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tochigi Brex will play against Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
