Regular Season Round 7: Rapido - Halcones 80-77

Fourth ranked Rapido (4-4) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Halcones (1-9) 80-77 on Sunday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Taimy Martinez who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Shaquilla Curtis (175, college: American) accounted for 21 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her eight free throws) for the winning side. American guard Tracey Parsons (170, college: Cent.Arkansas) came up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import center Wende Foster (196, college: Livingstone, agency: Gamble Sports Management) added 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for Halcones in the defeat. Halcones' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rapido moved-up to third place. Halcones lost third consecutive game. Halcones at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Rapido will play against league's second-placed San Salvador in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Halcones will play against L.M.Mons. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
