Regular Season Round 8: Zhejiang GB - Shanxi BD 109-104

There was no surprise in Hangzhou where 16th ranked Brave Dragons (2-6) were defeated by ninth ranked Golden Bulls (5-3) 109-104 on Tuesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Golden Bulls forced 21 Brave Dragons turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward Jarnell Stokes (201-94, college: Tennessee) who added 29 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and international guard LingXu Zeng (193-87) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Golden Bulls have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Brave Dragons lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Golden Bulls will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Brave Dragons will play against Jilin Tigers (#18) and hope to secure a win.
