Baltic League
Regular Season Round 4: Jurmala - Rapla 97-72
Date: November 14, 2017
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Estonian Rapla (2-2) was smashed on the road by top-ranked Latvian Jurmala (3-0) 97-72 on Tuesday. Jurmala looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by guard Haralds Karlis (198-91, college: Seton Hall) who scored that evening 23 points and 6 rebounds and guard Ugis Pinete (194-91) supported him with 16 points. Four Jurmala players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Devonte Upson (206-93, college: SE Louisiana) did not help to save the game for Rapla. Forward Indrek Kajupank (200-88) added 11 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jurmala have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-0 record behind leader Vytautas. Loser Rapla dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Jurmala will meet Parnu (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Rapla will have a break next round.
