Regular Season Round 7: Hottur - Keflavik 66-92

Date: November 16, 2017
Bottom-ranked Hottur (0-7) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fourth ranked Keflavik (5-2) 92-66 on Thursday evening. Keflavik forced 21 Hottur turnovers. American forward Stanley Robinson (206-88, college: Connecticut) fired 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Dadi-Lar Jonsson (182-96) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Kelvin Lewis (195-88, college: Houston) produced 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Gisli Hallsson (-99) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Keflavik moved-up to second place, which they share with Njardvik and IR. Hottur lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. Keflavik will meet at home KR (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hottur will play against the league's leader Tindastoll (#1) in Sauoarkrokur and hopes to get finally their first victory.
