Regular Season Round 9: Shanxi BD - Jilin NE T. 146-125

Everything could happen in Taiyuan at the game between two tied teams. Both sixteenth ranked Brave Dragons and 15th ranked Jilin Tigers had identical 2-6 record. This time Brave Dragons used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Changchun 146-125 on Friday night. Brave Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 94 of its points in the paint compared to Jilin Tigers' 60. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American point guard Brandon Jennings (185-89) nailed a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) accounted for 34 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. American forward Carl Landry (206-83, college: Purdue) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) added 22 points and 9 assists respectively for Jilin Tigers in the defeat. Five Brave Dragons and four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brave Dragons (3-6) moved-up to fifteenth place. Loser Jilin Tigers dropped to the sixteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Sichuan BW and Tianjin GL. Brave Dragons will meet at home league's leader Flying Leopards in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jilin Tigers will play against Fly Dragons (#12) in Beijing and hope to secure a win.
