An interesting game for Astana Tigers (4-0) which played road game in Kokshetay against Okzhetpes (0-4). Astana Tigers had an easy win 93-35. Astana Tigers held Okzhetpes to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Astana Tigers forced 26 Okzhetpes turnovers and outrebounded them 54-33 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Astana Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Okzhetpes' players. The former international center Anna Vinokurova (192-92) notched 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international center Nadezhda Kondrakova (190-89) supported her with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Even 13 points and 5 rebounds by Russian forward Arina Kazarinskova (184-96) did not help to save the game for Okzhetpes. Center Tolmagay Ermagambetova (176-95) added 9 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Astana Tigers will meet at home Irtysh in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Okzhetpes will play against Irtysh in Pavlodar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
