Regular Season Round 10: Basket Kosice - Sokol Zizkov 80-62

Very expected game when 10th ranked Sokol Zizkov (1-8) was defeated on the road by second ranked Basket Kosice (8-3) 80-62 on Friday. Basket Kosice outrebounded Sokol Zizkov 48-27 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Jan Lycka (186-93) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jan Kratochvil (200-82) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Basket Kosice players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Jan Srna (189-94) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Jaroslav Civin (182-89) scored 15 points. Sokol Zizkov's coach let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Basket Kosice maintains second position in West with 8-3 record behind leader Slavoj Litom. Sokol Zizkov lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with eight games lost. Basket Kosice will face Vysocina (#3) in Jihlava in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sokol Zizkov will play at home against BK Loko Plzen (#5) and hope to win that game.
