There was a minor upset in S'Arenal where higher ranked Magia Huesca (4-6) was defeated by sixteenth ranked Palma (4-6) 68-60 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-15. But Magia Huesca won second period 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lithuanian center Tautvydas Slezas (207-90, agency: Interperformances) fired 8 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Carles Bivia (189-85) chipped in 15 points. Palma's coach Xavi Sastre used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Dutch forward Kevin van-Wijk (203-89, college: Valparaiso) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and center Alberto Fontet (213-86) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Palma moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Magia Huesca. Palma will meet league's leader Leche Rio Breogan in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Magia Huesca will play against Araberri (#12) in Vitoria-Gasteiz and hope to secure a win.
