Regular Season Round 10: SBS Ostrava - BLK Praha 59-80
Date: November 26, 2017
There was no surprise when 10th ranked SBS Ostrava (2-8) was crushed at home by sixth ranked BLK Praha (7-3) 80-59. BLK Praha dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to SBS Ostrava's 24. They outrebounded SBS Ostrava 52-39 including 16 on the offensive glass. BLK Praha players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by SBS Ostrava's players. American forward Kristi Bellock (185-90, college: Texas A&M) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort and Slovakian center Maria Felixova (191-90) supported her with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four BLK Praha players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds by American swingman D'Asia Chambers (182, college: Slippery Rock) did not help to save the game for SBS Ostrava. Her fellow American import guard Antoinette Thompson (170-90, college: TCU) added 19 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BLK Praha have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Zabiny Brno and KP Brno. SBS Ostrava at the other side keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. BLK Praha's next round opponent will be LOKO Trutnov (#8) at home where they are favorite. SBS Ostrava will play against Basket Slovanka MB in Vodochody and hope to win that game.
